John Wiebe (Leading Pastor)

I grew up on a dairy farm near Grunthal, a small community in Southeastern Manitoba. In 1966 I graduated from the local high school, and was baptized upon my faith in Jesus in the local Bergthaler Mennonite Church in 1969 by Rev. J.F. Pauls. The Lord stirred my heart to prepare for Christian service and I graduated with a Bachelor in Christian Education from MBBC in Winnipeg in 1970, a Masters of Divinity and a Master of Arts from Providence Seminary in 1984 and 1991. I served as pastor in the Bergthaler Mennonite Church in Grunthal, and then in Sterling Mennonite Church in Winnipeg before coming to the Winkler Bergthaler Mennonite Church in August of 2007.

My wife Wanda and I were married in 1970, and have been blessed with three children and a son-in-law; Carrie, Joel and Jen & Kieth.

In addition to my vocation as pastor, I enjoy camping, nature, reading, small building projects, and connecting with people.
